DAY 1: Arrival in Johannesburg & continue to Sun City

Welcome to beautiful South Africa! Upon arrival at Johannesburg Airport, you will be collected in a luxury (South African Standard) vehicle and transferred to Sun City. Pass the Pretoria en-route to the Hartebeesport Dam, a recreational area at the foothills of the Magaliesberg Mountains for visitors from the two big cities. You are now in North West Province, one of the lesser known provinces in our country. Much of the province consists of flat areas of scattered trees and grassland making sheep, cattle and game ranches together with corn growing areas an important part of the economy. However, it is mining that generates more than half of the provinces income. Chief minerals are gold, uranium, platinum and diamonds. The area around Hartbeespoort, Rustenberg and Magaliesberg is known as the Cradle of Humankind with relicts from the Stone Age as well as middle to late Iron Age. An attraction is the large number of arts, crafts and curio outlets en-route to Rustenberg. One of the best known attractions is the extravagant Sun City, a hotel and entertainment complex built “in the middle of nowhere”. This icon of fun and entertainment includes four hotel complexes from a family hotel to the luxury five star palace. Sun City offers a myriad of different entertainment and relaxation opportunities. Water and water sports enthusiasts visit Waterworld or the Valley of Waves with a beach, pools and water falls. The casino and various shows provide entertainment whilst golfers choose between two excellent golf courses. The close-by Pilanesberg National Park invites guests to experience the bush and the big five on a game drive with an open 4x4 vehicle. Check in to hotel at Sun City and time at leisure to enjoy many activities Sun City has to offer.

DAY 2 & 3: Sun City

Water sports enthusiasts visit Waterworld or the Valley of Waves which includes a beach and wave machine, pools and waterfalls. The casino and theatre shows provide entertainment whilst golfers can choose between two excellent golf courses.

Day 5 & 6: Madikwe Game Reserve

Guests receive an early morning wakeup call from their Ranger. After a quick coffee or tea with some light breakfast snacks the Group boards the 4x4 Safari vehicles and venture off into the wild in search of unique wildlife. As Africa awakens from her slumber, the sun rises over the Savannah and the morning dew begins to evaporate. A substantial Breakfast is served to Guests upon their return to the Lodge. The rest of the morning is at leisure to relax around the pool, enjoy a spa treatment or take part in the optional activities available. Guests will be invited to a sumptuous lunch on the deck. After high tea is served, guests set out with their Rangers and Trackers in search of Africa’s creatures – both great and small. At sunset, sundowner cocktails are served in the Bush in a suitably secure spot, and then the Safari continues into the early evening in search of the ‘night eyes’ of the nocturnal animals. Tonight Dinner is served in the Boma or the camp, dependent on weather.
